Lupakan Semalam
Lupakan Semalam by Salam
I got attracted to Salam (musically, of course) since I first heard him in Cerita Kedai Kopi featuring the Malaysian hip-hop megastar, Malique from TooPhat and DJ Fuzz.
I thought not just the song is rhythmically awesome (ska! ska!), but the lyrics touched more than just human feelings - they speak of status quo, issues people are too afraid to mention in a song, simply because they are the truth.
What more, he rocks the 'locks! Malay guy 'lost' in Amsterdam, advocating peace and love in all true reggaeness.
What's not to love?
His songs remind me of Gerard et les Stars, my all-time fave French ska band, except of course, Salam is a one-man band.
Rasta Love.
